Flinders Peak Pavilion
This project required Four18 Architecture to design a new pavilion for the Geelong Rugby & Gridiron teams. Due to the isolated location the brief required Four18 to minimise crime through design. Four18’s design response achieved this requirement in a number of ways. The building perimeter was designed to “transform” from a monolithic structure with no glazing panels when closed to an activated and connected social space when opened. The hydraulically operated panels also serve as weather protection to the kiosk, change rooms and social space. The facades are articulated to be non-climbable, light is provided through translucent cladding and there are no gutters or downpipes, with rainwater captured on the facade and distributed to drainage located at ground level.
Our 2 storey childcare centre in Footscray is starting to take shape. The "treehouse" structure in the front facade provides a hint of the final facade forms, light voids are formed and the stair that connects the play platforms is in place. Looking forward to seeing the solar trees in place.
A great Reno on an old 80’s brick veneer in Waurn Ponds completed internally last year. Landscaping to come....stay tuned.
