Barwon Soccer Club
Design Brief
The Barwon Soccer Club was designed and documented for City of Greater Geelong in 2013. The original concept provided a 2 stage development proposal with the second set of change rooms and an entrance canopy to be constructed upon receipt of future funding. Stage 1 incorporated a social room, including commercial kitchen space, home & away change facilities, and referee facilities. The folding form of the roof provides an unobstructed undercover viewing area and is a striking feature of the building. On arrival at the building the eye is drawn to the patterned brickwork which has been designed to represent a pixelated soccer ball exploding on impact.
